1- Type Tab

1.1-Main Parameters

From this tab, you can configure the question's time limits. By default, answers are between 00:00 and 23:59.

1.2- Automatic time

It is possible to automatically fill in the question with the current time by checking the box "« Automatic time »In this case, it is recommended to prioritize server-side pop-up rather than client-side pop-up, as the time can vary.

Attention : when the "Automatic time" box is checked, the question is automatically hidden for the respondent.

By activating automatic time setting, you can also choose to do not update the time Each time the page is visited, the time will be entered once and then stored as is.

If you want to display the current time while allowing the respondent to change it, enter the following formula in the "« Assign a default time » : [TIME()]

The time will be displayed by default and will remain editable by the respondent.

2-Use case: measuring the duration of a questionnaire

Time-based questions are commonly used to measure the completion time of a questionnaire. Here's how to set up this tracking:

• A question about time on the front page: automatically filled in when the questionnaire is opened.
• A question about the time on the last page: automatically filled in upon validation by the respondent (note that if the page is not validated, the time will not be recorded).
• A calculated question: to obtain the time between the two hours.

If the two Time questions correspond to questions #3 and #45, the following formula will give the duration in seconds: √45 – √3

(Divide by 60 to get a result in minutes)

For the questionnaires started before midnight and finished after, Use the following formula which takes into account the change of day: SI(V45>V3; (V45-V3)/60; (V45+3600-V3)/60).

1- Type Tab

1.1- Main parameters

From this tab, you can configure the following elements:

• The terminals: Define the allowed start date and end date
• The date formatSeveral formats are available: year only, month only, month and year, or Anglo-Saxon format.
• The display By default, two areas are displayed in the questionnaire: an input field and a calendar icon for selecting a date directly. You can choose to display both areas or just one.

1.2 - Automatic Date

It is possible to automatically fill in the question with today's date by checking the box. «"Automatic date". In this case, it is recommended to prioritize filling by the server rather than by the client workstation, whose date may vary.

Attention : When the "Automatic Date" box is checked, the question is automatically hidden for the respondent.

By enabling automatic date, you can also choose not to update the date Each time the page is accessed, the date will be entered once and then saved as is. This can be useful, for example, to record the start date of a questionnaire and then calculate the response time.

If you want to display today's date while allowing the respondent to change it, enter the following formula in the block «"Assign a default date"» : [TODAY()]

Today's date will be displayed by default and will remain editable by the respondent.

2- Control Tab

This tab allows you to set a date based on another date in the questionnaire.

Two types of control are available:

• Initialization with a day's delay: starting from an existing date in the questionnaire, define a new date by adding a number of days to it.

This can, for example, be used to impose a response deadline calculated from the start date of the questionnaire.

• Consistency check: checks that the date entered in the current question complies with a defined condition: greater than, less than or equal to a date entered in a previous question.

For example, if a first question asks for the date of a first appointment and a second for the date of a second appointment, you can ensure that the second date is much later than the first.

• Responses to questionnaires created from the My Forms tab.
• Files imported directly into Ethnoforms in Excel or Ethnos formats.

The My Analyses tab groups together all the statistical analyses you have initiated. For each analysis, you have the following actions available:

• Archive: downloads an archive of the analysis in scz format.
• Duplicate: creates a copy of the analysis
• To modifyThis gives you access to the analysis workspace, where you will find your data, your sorts, the report, and the dashboard. It is from this workspace that you can modify all of these elements.
• DELETEpermanently removes the analysis

Using artificial intelligence

To access the artificial intelligence features, click on the pencil icon next to the relevant analysis. This will take you to a page displaying all your data — this is the Data tab, recognizable by the table icon in the top right corner.

This is the tab from which you will be able to use artificial intelligence.

1- Prepare the columns for artificial intelligence

The elements generated by artificial intelligence will be integrated into new columns. At present, it is not yet possible to add a column directly from Ethnoforms, however this feature is under development.

In the meantime, here is the procedure to follow:

1. Download the data file:

Click the download icon in the top right corner, then select Excel.

2. Add the columns in Excel:

Open the downloaded file and add as many new labels as needed after your existing data on the first line. Save your changes.

3. Re-import the file into Ethnoforms:

Back in Ethnoforms, click on the icon + located to the right of the download button.

Select Excel file, choose your modified file, then click on Open.

Your new columns are now available and ready to accommodate the elements generated by artificial intelligence.

2- Use artificial intelligence

To access the artificial intelligence features, click on the AI icon. A list of actions will then be offered.

3- Classify

The first available action is Classifier (or codebook). It allows you to identify categories and themes within comments, either from a predefined dictionary that it is possible to copy/paste directly into the interface, either by letting AI generate them automatically.

3.1- Configure the classification

Select the column on which the AI will work, as well as the column in which the results will be placed.

You can then define your own categories or let the AI generate them automatically by clicking on "Generate categories". At any time, it is possible to modify, correct, or delete a category proposed by the AI; you can also add others to complement my suggestion.

Before the launch, you will be able to:

• Define the number of categories desired.
• Add instructions to refine the generated categories, such as defining the category polarity. (positive or negative) to guide the respondents' perceptions.

A validation request will appear, indicating the number of tokens the action will use compared to the total number of tokens available.

3.2 - Assign multiple categories per comment

A single comment can sometimes fall into several categories. By checking the box "« Assign multiple categories per comment »It is possible to associate several categories with a single comment. They will then be displayed in the same cell, separated by « / ».

4- Identify

Allows you to extract a specific characteristic for a given theme. A list of default characteristics is available; you can choose from these or add a new one.

To do this, expand the empty category line — a text field will allow you to enter what you want to identify in the comments.

5- Correct

Automatically corrects spelling mistakes in the selected comment column.

6- Summarize

Generates an individual summary for each comment in a column. You can specify the number of sentences you want for the summary; by default, two sentences will be generated. Particularly useful when comments are long and numerous, this action allows you to quickly process a large volume of data.

7- Anonymize

Remove the elements that could identify a respondent, replacing them with XXX. You can choose which information to delete from the following:

• Identifyname, surname
• Locationaddress, city, etc.
• Phone number
• Order number

This allows you to display the comments entered while respecting the anonymity of the respondents.

8- Translate 

Translates the content of the selected column into your chosen language. Approximately twenty languages are available:

German, English, Catalan, Danish, Spanish, Finnish, French, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Swedish, Czech, Ukrainian.

9- Note

Allows you to automatically assign a rating from 1 to 5 to each comment, based on its content.

A typical use case would be comments on the quality of a service: from the text entered, an automatic rating is generated by AI.

You can define a rating criterion to guide the evaluation, but this is not mandatory. However, the column intended to receive the ratings must be of type digital.

10- Format

You can change the format of a date or phone number, compared to a predefined list of formats.

11- Extract

Allows you to isolate specific information from a column. You can extract, in particular:

• The city
• The department
• The region
• The country
• The postal code

This is particularly useful when a question collects a full address and you want to automatically split it into several separate fields.

12- Personalized Prompt

If the desired action in the selected comments column isn't available, you can choose Custom Prompt. This will allow you to describe exactly what you're looking for. The most effective approach is to use one instruction per sentence.

For example Corrects errors. Translates into English. Changes to third person. Anonymizes names. 

13- Overall Analysis

Allows you to create a general summary of a list of comments by identifying major trends. Enter a custom prompt to tailor the analysis to your needs.

For example : «Can you give me the 5 main themes addressed and the 5 main calls for action that result from them? I would like to be able to go into detail about the perception that emerges from each theme, and for the calls for action to be ranked according to their frequency of occurrence: […]»

The results are downloaded to a text document, which can then be reintegrated into the report with copy/paste.

It is also possible to relaunch a global analysis on the results extracted previously, which allows you to identify second-level themes arising from the main themes.

14- Scenario

This section contains all the scenarios you have created and saved. Here you will find:

• Individual scenarios: for each scenario, an information icon displays a summary of its general and advanced settings.
• The scenario sequences: a sequence corresponds to the successive chaining of several scenarios.

For the sequences, you can:

• Add a new sequence by clicking on the +
• Modify an existing sequence In both cases, you will be able to update the sequence label as well as the scenarios that compose it.

To save a scenario, you need to click the Save from action button.

For example, if you create a classification from the question “Do you have any training needs?” in order to sort the answers into an “AI Classification” column, the scenario will record all associated coding elements: category labels, their number, whether the classification is simple or multiple, custom prompts, and additional parameters.

Once recorded, the scenario allows the entire programmed action to be reproduced with a single click.

This allows for the chaining of multiple actions and simultaneous work on several columns using a sequence. This sequence executes several scenarios/actions successively, resulting in significant time savings.

15- Import

This action allows you to import results files directly into your study.

For that :

• Select a file in JSON format
• Select the column in which the results will be displayed.

16- Advanced settings

The advanced settings will be common to all actions available via AI.

• Minimum length of comments

Define the minimum number of characters below which the AI will not process the comment.

For example, To ignore responses of type "RAS", enter 4 as the minimum length.

• Context:

Provide a clear context (survey framework, target audience) to improve the accuracy of the results.

• Contextual instructions:

Specify the elements to include or exclude to refine the AI processing.

Your instructions can be saved for later reuse using the floppy disk button.

1- Correspondent database:

The contact database is a csv file, which allows us to list the people who will be contacted by email.

1.1- CSV file design

In most cases, we recommend starting your CSV file with:

• An «Identifier» column, each identifier is unique, it allows to distinguish the entries from one another.
• An "email" column to target email addresses to solicit

Attention : Double-check that your email addresses are valid. Too many incorrect email addresses can lead to emails being blacklisted from the sender address you provided. Therefore, for an indefinite period, you will no longer be able to send emails.

1.1.1- Column heading

We we recommend Also, pay attention to the following point regarding column headings:

• Avoid accents
• Prefer using capital letters.
• Avoid spaces; to replace them you can use "_".«
• Do not use special characters such as: ";", "!"...

1.1.2- Registration

You will need to properly register your contact database in CSV with the following separator:

• «; »"If your Survey Manager interface is in French"
• «, »"If your Survey Manager interface is in English.".

The fields in the correspondent database can then automatically pre-fill Net Survey questions. For more information, see the "Identifying a questionnaire with a database" guide.«

1.2- Add a base correspondent from Survey Manager :

• Log in to your Survey Manager account
• Click on the name of your study. If you haven't added the study yet, add it now.
• Then click on "Collect responses":

• From the next page, click on "Select a CSV file"«

• Select the previously created CSV file
• The page will refresh automatically and a table will appear with the different pieces of information you had in your CSV file.

For example :

• Select the reference field for the email address and confirm.

• Click again on "collecting responses".

The page will refresh and add a checkmark in front of each box allowing you to select one or more participants.

• You can show or hide certain fields in your CSV file by clicking on:

• You can also verify that the email address matches the correct field in your contact database by clicking on "Settings".«

2- Make a request:

• From the "Collecting Responses" tab you can select 1 or more people
• Then click on "Actions on participants"«

• Then "Apply"«

Attention By clicking on "Request all" you will send to all individuals in your database, regardless of what you have selected.

You will arrive at a page like this:

• You will then be able to:
  • Fill in the "Subject" field of your email,
  • Change the sender's name if necessary.,
  • By default, the sender's email address is the one entered in "Sending Address" in the "Configuration" menu (see: address 1 (photo on the next page)

If no address is entered in this field, then the default email address is the one associated with your account. (CF: address 2 (photo on the next page)

To access the configuration menu: click on the arrow next to your initials, then "Configuration".

2.1- Configuring the sender address

If you wish to change the sender address on the solicitation page, it is important to follow certain rules.

The sender address must belong to the same domain name as the one used by your Survey Manager.

For example, if the Survey Manager domain name is @test_Survey.com, You will not be able to use an email address ending in . as the sender address. @gmail.com

In most cases, the Survey Manager's domain name corresponds to its URL.

2.2- Why this constraint?

This rule is linked to email security and authentication mechanisms, put in place to combat identity theft and improve message deliverability.

These mechanisms are based primarily on three protocols:

• SPF (Sender Policy Framework) : allows you to verify that the server sending the email is authorized to do so for the domain used.
• DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) : adds a cryptographic signature to the email, guaranteeing the integrity of the message and the authenticity of the sending domain.
• DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance): relies on SPF and DKIM to define a validation policy and tell recipient servers how to handle non-compliant emails (rejection, quarantine, etc.).

2.3- Consequences of non-compliance

If the sender address does not match the configured domain (or if the DNS records are not correctly configured), sent emails may:

• To be rejected by email servers,
• To be classified as unwanted (spam),
• Not to be delivered to the recipients.

2.4 - Good practices

• Use a sender address belonging to the same domain as your Survey Manager.
• Verify that SPF, DKIM and DMARC records are correctly configured on your domain.
• If using a specific domain, ensure that it is authorized to send emails via the platform.
• In the left-hand section, you can choose a default email template and then adapt it to your needs (change the text, titles, image).
• By positioning yourself within the email template, you can add elements from the correspondent database.

For example, if you wish to begin your email with the first and last name of the person contacted:

• • Position yourself at the beginning of the email

• • Then in the right-hand section, in the "Select a predefined field" section, click on "Name".

• • You will see the name appear in the email.

• • Repeat the operation by positioning yourself after the name and then selecting the variable "FIRST NAME" in "Select a predefined field".
• Then click on the button to access the survey, for example "click here"«

Here, the link selection process differs depending on the type of questionnaire:

• • Identified questionnaire: Survey URL with identification
  • Unidentified questionnaire: Survey URL

1- Tab Type:

1.1- Characters and lines

This tab allows you to configure the main settings of the text question, including the number of characters and lines allowed.

If you define a number of rows greater than 1, three additional fields appear. It is important to distinguish between the two areas:

• The fields on the left: define the total number of lines and characters allowed for input
• Additional fields: only concern the display of the question.

For example, if you have allowed 10 input lines but only want to display 5, this is the "« Number of lines »"additional fields that will need to be modified"

1.2- Other options

• Required question: the respondent must complete this field to continue.
• Hidden question: the question will not be visible to the respondent.
• Type password: hides the on-screen input by replacing it with *.

Please note that the data remains visible in plain text within the data file. If you wish to also hide the input in the dataset, check the box "« Encrypt data during recording »

1.3- Input Format

By default, the expected format is alphanumeric. However, it is possible to restrict the input to a specific format:

• Email addressThe response must follow the format of an email address (e.g.: address@domain.comThe question will not be validated until the format is respected.
• NIR code: for social security numbers
• License plate mask: for license plates
• Phone mask: for phone numbers

2- Data entry assistance

The answer guidance feature provides a list of suggested answers for a text question. This is particularly useful when the number of possible answers exceeds the limit allowed in Net Survey, or when this list is likely to change over time.

It also offers the possibility of automatically filtering suggestions based on the answer given to another text question which also has input assistance.

For example :

• The first question concerns the choice of a region
• The next question concerns the departments — depending on the selected region, only the corresponding departments will be offered.

2.1- Search methods

Two main modes are available:

• Standard modeA drop-down list displays all available suggestions.
• Search modeThe respondent must enter at least three characters for the drop-down list to appear, showing only the items that match the entry.

3- Connections

This tab allows you to automatically populate the current question using an existing value. Several sources are available:

• Value: repeats the answer given to a previous question in the questionnaire
• Score: retrieves the score obtained on a previous question
• Field: retrieves an element from the database of correspondents
• Constant: inserts a constant defined in Net Survey
• Function: applies a calculation or word processing function (see details below)
• External file: retrieves a value from a file in Ethnos (.g01) or TXT format. This file must be deployed on the server in the same folder as the questionnaire.
• Free text valueIt is also possible to directly enter a fixed text value in the linking field.

3.1 - Available Functions

Four functions are available via Ins. Function:

• GenUID: generates a unique 20-character identifier.

Useful when credentials are not known in advance, while still retaining the benefits of authenticated access. (anti-duplicate, ability to resume an interrupted investigation)

• Stxt(Vn;d;p): returns p characters from the text of the answer to question n, starting from character d.

Example : if question 21 was answered with "home", then Stxt(V21;3;2) returns "is" (2 characters from the 3rd)

• Right(Vn;p): returns the first p characters of the answer to question n, starting from the right
• Left(Vn;p): returns the first p characters of the answer to question n, starting from the left

1. Operation

1.1- Principle

To be valid, a qualitative question must contain:

• A name — the wording of the question
• At least one answer — the options offered to the respondent
• An empty line at the end of the list — to mark the end of the responses

Limit : Up to 250 answers can be offered for the same question.

By default, any new question created is of type high-quality, single-choice.

1.2- Hide a label

It is possible to make a label invisible to respondents while still keeping it in the results. To do this, enclose the text in curly braces: {label1}

The content between curly braces will appear in exports and results, but will not be displayed when completing the questionnaire.

2. Settings

2.1- Tab type 

2.1.1- Number of responses:

This setting defines how many answers the respondent can select:

• Single choiceonly one answer possible (default option)
• Multiple answers, unlimitedThe respondent can select as many answers as they wish.
• Several limited answersA maximum number of responses is set; an error message is displayed if this threshold is exceeded.
• Ordered answersAvailable only with the Limited Multiple Responses option, this option allows the respondent to rank their answers in order of preference.

2.1.2- Other options

• Required / Hidden / DisabledThe question can be made mandatory, hidden, or disabled by default depending on the needs of the questionnaire.
• Connection "Other, please specify"«This allows you to link the last answer in the list (for example, "Other") to a text field. When the respondent selects this option, an associated text field becomes active so they can elaborate on their answer. To configure this link, select the "Link 'Other' to specify" option and then select the corresponding text question from the dropdown list. The text field remains grayed out until the "Other" option is selected.
• Random order of responsesThe answers can be presented in a random order each time they are displayed. For more information, see the article [Question Rotation].

2.2- Presentation tab

This section allows you to adjust the visual formatting of the question:

• Response layout — modify the position of the answers relative to the question, as well as the spacing between them
• Police — By default, the font used is the one defined for the entire questionnaire. The drop-down list Police allows you to customize it only for the current question

2.3- Animation Tab

This tab allows you to apply animation effects to questions and answers when the respondent arrives on the page.

To activate this feature, check the box Enable animation effects. You will then have access to a list of over sixty available effects. By selecting an effect, a preview will appear directly, allowing you to view it before confirming your choice.

2.4 - Answers tab

This tab allows you to show or hide certain answers to the current question, depending on what the respondent answered on previous pages of the questionnaire.

Two types of control are available:

• Control by previous qualitative question : checks if an answer with the same wording has been selected in one or more previous questions. Note that the match must be spelled exactly.
• Advanced controls They are useful when questions do not share the same answer labels, allowing for more personalized display conditions.

2.5 - Selection Tab 

This tab allows you to customize how the question answers are displayed. Several selection methods are available; here are the most common:

• Checkbox : the default selection mode
• Button In most cases, we recommend using the standard formatting without adding an image to the image column of the response.
• Drop-down list Reserved for single-choice questions. Note that some features are not compatible with this mode, such as randomizing the display of answers.
• Cursor Reserved for single-choice questions, it is particularly well-suited to satisfaction, intensity, or rating scales. Some key points:
  • We recommend using sliders of the type without bar
  • The number of answers entered in the question must exactly match the number of items displayed on the slider. For example, a slider ranging from 0 to 10 requires 11 answers
  • By default, the order of responses is reversed to match the usual order of satisfaction scales. Depending on the order in which you entered your responses, you may need to uncheck the corresponding box.

2.6 - Link Tab

A connection allows the answer to the current question to be automatically populated by retrieving an existing value. Three sources are available:

• From a data file : select your file in Ethnos format (.g01), then in the area «"Return the answer to the question"», Select the question whose answer you want to use. During deployment, the .g01 file will be automatically deployed along with the questionnaire.
• From the database of correspondents : In «"Retrieve the value from the following field"», click on Field to select the desired field. To learn more about the correspondent database, see the article [correspondent database].
• Based on a previous question : In «"Retrieve the value from the following field"», click on Value. A window will open with a list of the questionnaire questions; select the one whose answer you wish to retrieve. Two conditions must be met: the source question must be located on a page prior to the current question, and it must have already been answered.

2.7 - Controls Tab

This tab allows you to adapt the current question based on the answer given to another question in the questionnaire.

Attention, Only one control can be defined per question.

In the block Question to be checked, Select a question from the questionnaire and then choose the value that will serve as the condition. When this condition is met, three actions are possible:

• Disallow a response (block "Value to be prohibited") : prevents the respondent from selecting a specific answer in the current question
• Automatically assign a response (block "Value to be assigned") : automatically selects one of the answers to the current question
• Display a message (block "Message to display") : displays a personalized message to the respondent

The calculated variables are primarily used:

• To show the respondent a result calculated from their answers (score, grade obtained, loan conditions, etc.).
• To summarize a complex condition of navigation in the questionnaire (page breaks, conditional display of page, hiding of area or inter-question control) with a simple value of 0 or 1.
• To implement customized consistency checks.
• To store in the data file a result that we do not want to have to recalculate during the analysis.

1- Operating principle

1.1- Behavior of calculated questions

The formula for a calculated question is defined in the block Formula of its properties.

By default:

• She is masked for the respondent.
• Its result is calculated automatically at each page change, regardless of where the question is located in the questionnaire.

1.2- Displaying the result in the questionnaire

To display the question, you will need to go to the tab presentation properties of the question, then check the box see in the form.

By default, the result is displayed as an integer.

If the result of your calculation may contain decimals, you can define the number of digits after the decimal point directly below the block Formula in the properties of the question.

1.3- Display the result on the same page

If you want the result to be calculated on the same page as the questions that make it up, two conditions are necessary:

• Place the calculated question on this same page.
• Add the questions used in the formula, in the block Calculation on demand properties of the calculated question.

Thus, as soon as a respondent modifies one of these questions, the result updates automatically, without waiting for the page to change.

2- The elements that can be used in a formula

2.1- The value of a question

The reference Vn corresponds to the value of a question where n is the question number.

Ex : V2 is the value from question 2.

The value of the question will have a different meaning depending on the type of question:

• Numerical or calculated: Vn corresponds to the numerical value.
• Qualitative single-choice options : Vn is the order number of the chosen answer.
• Qualitative multiple-choice: Vn is the number of responses.
• Date: Vn corresponds to the conversion of a Date into the number of days between that date and 01/01/1900.
• Hour: Vn corresponds to the value in seconds of one hour.
• Text: Vn is not usable.

2.2 - The score of a question

The reference Sn corresponds to the score obtained by question n where n is the question number.

The score for this question corresponds to the sum of the scores associated with each answer checked for question n.

This score will be 0 if no answer is checked, or if the checked answers have no scores.

2.3- The operators:

2.3.1- Mathematics

• Addition (+)
• Subtraction (-)
• Multiplication (*)
• Division (/)

As a reminder Multiplication and division take precedence over addition and subtraction.

2.3.2- By comparison

• Strict superior (>)
• Greater than or equal to (>=)
• Strict inferior (<)
• Less than or equal to (<=)
• Equal (=)

3- Logical functions

3.1- SI

Allows you to condition a calculation. The condition will be formed by an operation or by other logical functions.

Syntax : IF(condition; value_if_true; value_if_false)

Example : IF(V2>0 ; V1/V2 ; NR).

If the answer to question 2 is strictly greater than 0, the result of the calculated question will be V1/V2. Conversely, if the answer is less than or equal to 0, the calculated question will take the value NR, i.e., not answered.

3.2- AND

Each condition must be met for the AND() function to be "true".

Example : IF(AND(V2<0;V2>0);V1/V2;NR)

Divides V1 by V2 only if V2 is not zero, otherwise returns a non-response (NR).

3.3- Or

The OR() function itself only needs to be "true" if at least one condition is met.

Example : IF(OR(V2<0;V2>0);NR;V1/V2)

Divides V1 by V2 only if V2 is not zero, otherwise returns a non-response (NR).

3.4- NR

NR is an action that returns the unanswered value to the calculated question, so we get an empty value.

This is useful for avoiding errors such as division by zero.

Example : IF(V2=0;NR;V1/V2)

3.5- No

NO is used to reverse a condition.

3.6- Answered

3.6.1- ANSWERED(n)

The logical function ANSWERED(n) is used to check if the question number n is answered.

Example : ANSWERED(1)

If question 1 is answered, the calculation will take the value 1, otherwise it will take the value 0.

3.6.2- ANSWERED(Vn,x)

The logical function ANSWERED(Vn,x) is used to check if a question option has been answered. With n which corresponds to the question number and, x to the modality.

Example : IF(OR(ANSWERED(V1,1);ANSWERED(V2,1));1;0)

The calculation returns 1 if the first option is selected in both questions.

3.6.3- RESPONDUREP(Vn,x)

The logical function REPANDREP(Vn,x) is used to check if multiple options of a question have been answered. With n which corresponds to the question number and, x to the modality.

Example : RESPONSEP(V1,1) + RESPONSEP(V1,2) + RESPONSEP(V1,3)

The calculation will examine the options in question 1 and will return:

• 3 if all three options have been checked.
• 2 if two of the options have been checked.
• 1 if only one of the options has been checked.
• 0 if none of the options have been checked.
